Program Description: 
Join us the day after the Future Dispute Resolution Conference for an immersive and collaborative Hackathon at the AAA-ICDR’s Midtown office in New York City. This hands-on event will bring together arbitrators, mediators, legal professionals, and technologists from Wolters Kluwer’s Digital eXperience Group (DXG)—with team members joining from both New York and The Hague—for a one-of-a-kind innovation experience at the intersection of law and technology. 

Building on the success of previous hackathons at The Hague and Stanford Law School, this event focuses on building real-world, AI-enabled workflows that address emerging needs in arbitration, mediation, and access to justice. Guided by product designers, engineers, and UX experts, participants will collaborate in interdisciplinary teams to identify practical pain points in the dispute resolution lifecycle and rapidly prototype technology solutions—from dispute prevention alerting tools to court service portals for self-represented entrepreneurs. No coding experience is required; instead, this open innovation format emphasizes idea generation, usability, and cross-professional learning. Expect energy, curiosity, and the unexpected—plus a few joyful surprises as we reimagine dispute resolution, one tool at a time.

CLE Information

The AAA has not applied for and is not offering CLE credits in any jurisdiction for this program. Registrants desiring CLE credit (or those professionals in a discipline other than the practice of law) will be able to request a certificate of attendance, which may be used for self-pursuit of CLE credit in their jurisdictions. In so doing, the AAA suggests that you confirm applications requirements for this type of course with the appropriate licensing body.
