Samuel E. McCargo is a senior attorney in the litigation group of Lewis & Munday, P.C.  Prior to his affiliation with Lewis & Munday, P.C., he was employed by The Wellness Plan for 8 years where he served as VP Bus. Dev. & Mktg.; VP Plan Admin.; and Associate Gen. Counsel.  There he provided executive and operational oversight and direction for the Departments of Human Resources, Corporate Compliance, Public & Government Relations, Provider Contracting & Relations, Customer Service and the Commercial Business Unit. Mr. Mc Cargo also served as executive liaison and provided operational oversight for the Health Plan Operations Group. He provided legal counsel, advice and representation in areas of Labor & Employment, Provider Contracting, Government Relations, and Commercial Business. Mr. McCargo was a senior shareholder at Kirk McCargo, P.C., and Detroit, MI for over 12 years, and was responsible for all internal firm trial skills training.

Mr. Mc Cargo focused on federal constitutional litigation, governmental immunity, third party action/work compensation, real property rights, alternative dispute resolution, litigation in labor & employment, personal injury, product liability, and premises liability.  He has served the State Bar of Michigan in various capacities, including Commissioner.  He has also served as a state hearing officer in its Departments of Public Health and Civil Service.  An author and lecturer, Mr. McCargo regularly conducts seminars on trial practice, professional ethics, labor and employment, and sexual harassment in the public and private sectors.  A panel member of the American Arbitration Association, Mr. McCargo is also a former member of the Defense Research Institute, the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel.  Mr. McCargo is a long-term member of the National Bar Association, the Detroit Bar Association, the Wolverine Bar Association and the American Bar Association.  In addition, Mr. McCargo is a Michigan Bar Association Fellows and an American Bar Association Fellows.
