Martin Stillman MD, JD, FACP, FCLM
Martin Stillman, MD, JD, FACP, FCLM, is a physician, lawyer, and mediator. He is a Medical Director and Assistant Chief for the Department of Medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as well as Mediation and Conflict Resolution Officer. An Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School, he teaches about medical error, medical malpractice, and the risk management aspects of physician/patient relations and communication.
Actively involved in mediation within health care, Dr. Stillman is an invited coach for Hamline University’s general mediation training and serves on the American Arbitration Association’s (AAA) Healthcare Dispute Resolution Advisory Council; the Advisory Boards of the Health Law Institute at Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, MN; and the Joint Degree Program in Law and Values in Health, Environment, and the Life Sciences at the University of Minnesota.
