John R.  Holsinger

John R. Holsinger was graduated cum laude from New York University School of Law in 1974 and practiced with Proskauer Rose Goetz & Mendelsohn in New York City before opening his own office in Hackensack, New Jersey.  


His complex commercial litigation practice both in New York and later in New Jersey involved handling and trying a large of number of major court cases. The practice also included serving as local counsel in New Jersey federal and state courts for large New York City and other out-of-state law firms.  The cases involved antitrust, environmental, federal taxation, unfair competition, employment, and partnership and shareholder disputes.


The practice also developed of counseling corporate clients in those areas of the law.   In addition small businesses, individuals and families consulted about business issues, personal financial matters, estate planning and administration, employment and other personal matters.   


John R. Holsinger has been a member of the American Arbitration Association national roster of neutrals for commercial cases since 1977.  He has trained extensively as an arbitrator and has handled over 100 complex commercial matters, both as an arbitrator and as an advocate for clients in arbitrations.  


As mediation developed as another alternative to litigation, John served as special fiscal agent/mediator by appointment by New Jersey Superior Court judges in cases involving corporate and partnership disputes.   He is a mediator in the New Jersey state court mediation program and certified as a mediator by the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.


John served as chair of the Bergen County Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee and is currently Vice Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Dispute Resolution Section.  He is also Secretary to the Justice Marie Garibaldi American Inn of Court for Alternative Dispute Resolution, the only Inn of Court in the United States devoted to ADR.  He is also a member of the American Bar Association’s Litigation, Dispute Resolution and Antitrust Sections.
