In the field of labor relations, I have 26+ years of practice in public sector dispute resolution as an advocate in employee/employer grievance administration and collective bargaining utilizing arbitration, mediation and negotiation currently representing the State of Michigan’s 2600+ professional employee Scientific & Engineering Unit for the Service Employees International Union located in Lansing, Michigan.
I also have 5+ years of experience as a Mediator in both the federal sector appointed by the United States Federal District Court: Eastern/Western District Courts of Michigan and public sector labor relations issues for the American Arbitration Association (Neutral Id 4426362) and on an Ad Hoc basis.
Additionally, I served on the faculty of Western Michigan University Law School as an Adjunct Professor teaching ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution), Labor Law, Pre-Trial Civil Practice and Introduction to Law.
I have earned an Advanced Mediation of Complex Disputes Certificate from Harvard University Law School, my Juris Doctorate from Western Michigan University Law School and two Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Maryland.
