Deborah Bovarnick Mastin is on the AAA Large Complex Case construction mediation and arbitration panels and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution neutrals’ panel. She is a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers, a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
For over 35 years she was an Assistant Broward County Attorney and an Assistant County Attorney for Miami-Dade County. She is a Florida Bar Board Certified Construction Lawyer and a Florida Certified Circuit Court Mediator and qualified arbitrator. She earned her J.D., Northeastern University School of Law, and S.B., MIT School of Architecture and Planning.
Her practice concentrates on construction law and included a $6 billion airport expansion, utility and power plants, museums, and performing arts centers. She co-authored Chapter 1, Construction Defects, published by the ABA, authored "Damages in Construction Litigation,"Florida Civil Practice Damages, Sixth Ed., 2005, and articles on arbitration and mediation practices for complex construction disputes. She is a member of the ABA Construction Industry Forum, ABA Dispute Resolution Section, ABA Government and Public Sector Lawyers Division Council, Florida Bar Real Property Probate and Trust Law (ADR Committee Co-chair, Construction Committee), Florida Bar Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law Section Executive Council, and Past President of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation Region 1 (US and Canada).
