Chris Stern Hyman

Chris Stern Hyman is a health care lawyer and a mediator. In 1998 she formed Medical Mediation Group LLC, which provides mediation services to resolve disputes in health care, and she is a mediation trainer. She is a member of the American Arbitration Association’s Panel of Mediators and a Special Master mediating appeals pending before the NY Supreme Court Appellate Division, First Department. Chris is a researcher and writes on mediation and health care. Chris is a Principal Investigator for the study of Courts Mediating Medical Malpractice Actions (CoMMMA) 2013 -2015 and was Principal Investigator on the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation Pilot Project for Mediation of Medical Malpractice Lawsuits (NYCHHC) study. She was also Principal Investigator for the MeSH Study, which mediated medical malpractice lawsuits filed against private hospitals in New York City. The NYCHHC study was reported in C.S. Hyman and C.B. Schechter, 2006 "Mediating Medical Malpractice Lawsuits Against Hospitals: New York City’s Pilot Project," Health Affairs 25(5): 1394-1399 and the MeSH study in the Journal of Health Politics, Policy and Law, Vol. 35, No. 5, October 2010.
