Barbara A. Ruga

Barbara A. Ruga, Of Counsel, is a former member of Clark Hill’s Education and Municipal as well as Labor & Employment Practice Groups. Barb advises and counsels public and private employers on a wide variety of labor law and employment issues, including labor relations, grievance arbitration and collective bargaining. Barb has also handled numerous unfair labor practice charges, fact-findings, OCR and EEO claims and related employment litigation. Barb advocates for prevention of litigation through client education, and has developed and presented multiple training programs on a wide variety of topics.
Barb has held leadership positions in the Michigan Council for School Attorneys, local and state bar associations, has presented widely on labor and employment issues, labor relations and education law, and has authored several publications in these fields. Currently, Barb is available to conduct independent investigations, provide training on topical issues, such as Title IX, and to provide general advice in the areas in which she has practiced for over forty years.
