This program is designed to teach participants how to become more effective representatives in an arbitration proceeding. Through lecture, facilitated discussions, interactive exercises and mock arbitration role-plays, the experienced faculty will examine the following topics:

• Review of Basic Case Preparation and Presentation Skills (Avoid Unnecessary Costs in Arbitration)
• Interpreting Contract Language (Common Errors; Arbitrability, Remedies, Zipper Clauses)
• Standards of Discipline (Based on the Contract Language; Beyond the Contract; Based on Past Practice; Special Considerations)
• Direct and Cross Examination (Witness Utilization; Witness Credibility)
• Use of Objections (Handling Problems of Evidence)
• Remedies – how to determine what to ask for
• Closing Arguments and Post Hearing Briefs
