With new social media technologies, such as Facebook, Twitter, etc., the line between workplace misconduct and off-duty conduct that is subject to just cause discipline has been become increasingly blurred. A clarification of these concepts is necessary for employees, managers and union representatives. During this program, an experienced AAA Labor Arbitrator and two skilled labor professionals will examine the interface between these concepts from their perspectives, using case scenarios and other current materials. They will also distinguish off-duty misconduct in the private sector from the public sector as well as consider constitutional issues that may arise. The speakers will also address:
